Filix Fest 2019 – Day 2 Kathak Recital

In the Indian Tradition there are sixty four kinds of Arts, and it is believed that to excel in life children need to be exposed to all of these, our students are regularly introduced to many of these forms and they presented some of them in Filix Fest 2019.

Like previous years, this year too, the entire show was conceived, overseen and directed by the renowned danseuse Guru Sharmila Biswas, a very close friend of Nanritam, and was presented under her personal guidance.

The second presentation of the 2nd Day of Filix Fest was by students of Standards II to VII who enjoyed dancing. Trained by Guru Debashree Bhattacharya, the presented a Kathak recital, making our 13 Acre Campus resonate to the collective tinkling of their Gunghoos. Filix teachers Ankita Chattaraj, Aindrala Das and Ishita Dey, (none of whom had any exposure to this art form before) had to doubled up both as trainees and trainers in the workshops held by Guru Debashree Bhattacharya for orienting the young performers. Filix teacher Debjani Karmakar managed the backstage for this group performers adroitly.
